Communicating Careers will be held at Boston University’s Center for Career Development, which is located in the Yawkey Center for Student Services at 100 Bay State Road, Boston, MA 02215.

The conference will be held on the sixth floor. To access the elevator lobby, enter the building via either of the two entrances on Deerfield Street.

Transportation & Directions

Driving

The Yawkey Center is located on the western edge of Kenmore Square, at the corner of Bay State Road (a one-way street) and Commonwealth Avenue (a divided two-lane road). Driving directions can be found on the Boston University campus map.

Parking

The BU-owned Kenmore Lot (cash only) is located directly next to the Yawkey Center, at the corner of Commonwealth Avenue and Deerfield Street. (See rates and location details) Street parking is limited, and meters are restricted to two hours.

Boston Taxi Services

If you’re going to or from the airport or to the suburbs, ask about flat rates. Bridge and tunnel tolls are paid by the passenger. Service within the greater Boston area is rated by cab meter. Service outside this area is determined by the Boston Police Department’s flat rate handbook. A few local tax services we recommend include: Boston Cab (617-536-3200) and Metro Cab (617-782-5500).

Public Transit: Massachusetts Bay Transit System (MBTA)

The least expensive way to get around Boston is by the T. The T is color-coded by line: red, blue, orange, and green. (See MBTA maps and interactive tools) The green B line train passes directly through the Boston University Charles River campus, continuing from Kenmore Square up along Commonwealth Avenue on the street level.

To get to the Yawkey Center, take a green line train outbound toward Boston College (B line), Cleveland Circle (C line), or Riverside (D line) and get off at the Kenmore stop. Be sure NOT to take an E line train toward Heath Street.

After getting off at Kenmore, exit toward the right after the turnstile (to Beacon Street/Boston University). At the top of the stairs, turn around to walk west on Beacon Street/Commonwealth Avenue.  Take a right on Deerfield Street.
